Meet the team
Ruth BRIGHT (Director & Advocate)
Ruth is director and founder of Bright Futures. Ruth's wealth of EHCP knowledge and experience is the bedrock of Bright Futures, and the reason we are able to support parents, schools and professionals as well as we can. Ruth studied at Newcastle University, and has since completed training in teaching and SEN legal processes.
Svenja timmins (case holder)
Svenja joined the team at the end of 2017 as a case holder. Svenja supports Ruth with all Bright Futures case work, and you'll start hearing a lot more from her as she progresses through her training with Ruth. Svenja has a background in Geography, and has an MSc in Social Research from the University of Edinburgh.
SIÁN BARNELL (PARENT CONTACT)
Sián is the glue that holds everything together at Bright Futures! Working alongside Danuta (who we haven't managed to get in front of the camera yet), Sián is the first point of contact for many parents, and her organisational wizardry keeps our piles of paperwork in check. Sián is also leading our social media engagement and our new blog.
RUBY (CUDDLE PROVIDER)
The EHCP process certainly has its ups and downs, and there are definitely times when the team needs a cuddle. Luckily we have Ruby the border collie in the office! Ruby belongs to Ruth, and she can usually be found snoozing on somebody's feet, or trying to rope somebody into a game of tug!
