We can represent and advocate on behalf of you through the whole EHCP process
Dedicated to helping you
Bright Futures was started as a lifeline for parents struggling to get the right provision in their child's EHCP. We have now worked with over 100 families, and we are absolutely dedicated to getting the best possible outcome for your son or daughter.
Do you wish you had the knowledge and confidence to tackle your child's EHCP? Are you worried about relying on professional support, and would like to equip yourself to deal with future challenges? Would you like access to a supportive peer community?
If you answered 'yes' to any of those questions, check out our brand new online study groups!
These are led personally by Ruth, and are limited to 6 parents per group. Please add your email address to our mailing list if you would like to be informed about future dates:
Bright Futures can also represent you directly. This is how we started, and it is still at the heart of what we do. We know that the EHCP process can be overwhelming and frustrating. Although we don't have a magic wand, we aim to take some of the stress off your shoulders, by offering professional advice and acting as your representative during the whole process. To find out if we can help, please book a free 20 minute consultation using the link below. If you decide to go ahead with our help, the next step is always a Paperwork Check, which allows us to get to know your case inside out.
We offer all families that we work with a free 20 minute telephone consultation. This gives you a chance to have a chat about your case and any difficulties you may be having, as well as hearing more about how we can help.
Whichever path you take with Bright Futures, a paperwork check is always the first step. It's important for us to get to know your case inside out, so that we are in the best possible position to help you. During the paperwork check, we will read through every single document associated with your case. We may also contact professionals involved to obtain further supporting information. You will receive a letter of feedback, and advice on your next steps.
Please note, Bright Futures is currently completely full until September 2018. There are no spaces left for individual representation. We are continuing to offer our Study Groups so please book in to these. Please get in touch if you require individual support after September 2018.
EHCP Health Check
For a more detailed look over your EHCP, Bright Futures can conduct a thorough "health check". This involves a critical eye over every single detail, and the production of a report, which can be sent to the local authority.
Registering an Appeal
If you're not happy with an EHCP that has been issued, you have 2 months to register an appeal. Bright Futures can write the Reasons for Appeal document, and register the appeal for you.
Bright Futures can collate all of the information that you need to go to tribunal, whilst also acting as a contact point for professionals and the local authority. Case management services last for the 12 weeks between registering your appeal and the date of the tribunal hearing.
Local Authority Meeting
It can be extremely beneficial to have a formal meeting with the local authority ahead of the tribunal hearing date, to try to resolve issues amicably. Bright Futures can arrange this meeting, host it at the Bright Futures offices, and can either attend with you, or on your behalf.
Tribunal Hearing Representation
A tribunal hearing can be stressful, as well as daunting. Bright Futures can take some of the pressure off by representing you on your behalf. A reduced fee of £375 is charged if the tribunal hearing is conceded or withdrawn, due to the case having been resolved outside of court.
