It is so important to us that you know our promises to working in this sector.
What is very frustrating, is that there is no quality assurance of advocates which can make picking an advocate a risky business. It is so important that your advocate embodies values that put your child at the centre of the process. As advocates ourselves, are more aware than ever, about the vast amounts of ill-advise being passed around, out there. Therefore, to reassure families and demonstrate part of what we are about (The table below comes from the very heart of Bright Futures), we have created our own Code of Ethics and criteria for giving advice and for taking on cases.
We are so proud about the work we do and particularly the values and ethics we hold. Nothing else would sit right with us.
For example. Not many of you will know, but we ALWAYS signpost families to free resources first.
We make sure that we do not embody a ‘win - ‘lose’ culture, like some LAs and solicitor firms.
To appreciate and expand the potential for parents to speak with one another, to support each other’s wellbeing.
To be active participants in the overall improvement of the sector.
To be exceptionally knowledgeable and up to date with the information that we provide.
