Farewells and Bright futures

Dear all,

In July 2023, I (Ruth) unfortunately had to issue bad news about the immediate continuation of Bright Futures services. Since then, I have taken the time to think about where the future lies for me and the business.

I have come to the conclusion that unfortunately I am unable to continue as Director & Owner of Bright Futures due to my personal circumstances. It felt like a great shame to me that Bright Futures legacy would have to stop. In February this year, an opportunity arose to hand over the business to an old employee, and to me, this made sense, albeit sad for me to say goodbye. So despite the rollercoaster of emotions, I am really happy to announce that Rebecca Sanders will be the new Managing Director & Owner of Bright Futures and she will be continuing the Bright Futures legacy, able to start up the services once more in April.

Rebecca first started working for Bright Futures in August 2021, and quickly became Bright Futures’ EHCP checking expert, challenging many poorly written EHCPs before families proceeded to the First-Tier Tribunal. For the latter part of last year, Rebecca confidently led many complex appeals to a successful conclusion.

Rebecca aims to keep Bright Futures small, but will be offering the same services that Bright Futures previously held. As many of you know, Rebecca is exceptionally knowledgeable, with a legal background and personal experience in the sector. She deeply cares about the work she does for the families of children and young people who experience injustice at the hands of a broken system.

In terms of where I go in the future, I aim to be available as an independent consultant for training & professional purposes. I do hope to collaborate with Rebecca & Bright Futures when the time allows. But for now, I must bid farewell as Director & Owner of Bright Futures. I am very confident that you will be in good hands!

All the best to you and your families,

Best wishes,
Ruth
